Here's an excerpt from this season's newsletter:

…We immediately signed up, begged our parents to sign the waivers to let us play (in that order), and with anxiety mounting, awaited to hear back with what team we would be drafted. The eight of us that ponied up the $30 paired up, and were placed on teams. That first season was like an odyssey for us. We would be in the real world, hanging out with friends, getting into trouble, sitting in basements for six days of the week. Regular Midwest summer fare. But on Thursday nights, we journeyed 50 minutes south of our suburban refuge, to a secluded field complex surrounded by forest, with a creek wrapping around it, and even a rickety bridge that only one car could traverse at a time. Crossing that bridge into the parking lot carried us to a whole other world. A whole subculture of people who, like us, lived regular lives as accountants, engineers, or bankers...
